Assalamu Alaikum brothers and sisters in Islam, apologies for the lengthy absence at Al Nahza.
This time we look at the telecommunications sector in the Muslim world and its standing relative to some nonmuslim economic blocs.
We approach the issue from two perspectives.
Firstly, the mobile phone usage statistics – teledensity/mobile subscribers per 100 persons, total subscribers and total population – is tabulated. For comparison, the leading OIC member states in mobile phone penetration rate and total subscriber numbers are jotted down.
Then, we look at some of the largest mobile phone companies originating …

US Double Standards!
As Israel and the u.s. also( the country’s pushed into it) complain about Iran..Why not look at Israel and have inspection’s on what they have in the line of nuclear weapon’s. Sure..the u.s. want a nuke free world..BUT.. will the u.s. and israel and the country’s that already have them, give up theirs? I highly doubt it. They would rather ride rough shot over those that don’t have them.
In contradiction with his calls for nuclear-free world, US President Barack Obama has given Israel guarantees to maintain its nuclear ambiguity policy to skip international inspection of its nuclear facilities.
“What this means is that the president gave commitments that politically he had no choice but to give regarding Israel’s nuclear program,” a Senate staffer told the Washington Times Friday, October 2, on condition of anonymity.
US official said Obama gave Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu during their first meeting in May guarantees that he …

The History of Palestine
The fifteenth of May 2006 marked the fifty eighth anniversary of the catastrophe, which has brought about the worst calamity that could befall a nation in the whole history, namely the tragedy of the Palestinian people. Fifty years, during which Israel has implemented its plots and schemes to force itself as a reality in the region, where it worked on embedding its institutions on the Arabic lands and building settlements for the Jewish immigrants there. To achieve this, it has usurped the Arabic lands, forcing out the Palestinians from their home and uprooting them from their own lands.
Despite all this the Palestinian preserved his entity and instilled patriotism deep in his sons’ hearts, passing on the flag of the nation from the elder, whom the enemies wanted him to perish, to the youngster, whom they wanted him to sink into oblivion. Such flag together with devotion and love to one’s …

1000 Years of Missing Islamic Industry
“A typical university graduate grows up with the notion that industrial production, or manufacturing, is a Western manifestation, dating from the mid to late 18th century. This implies that there was no industry until the English Industrial Revolution of the mid 18th–19th century, followed by that of other countries, for example France, and later Germany, America and Iapan, initiated the birth and development of manufacturing and mass production. This is what is taught to this day in most history and engineering departments in the UK, Europe and US. Also, according to such teaching, and the literature that went with it, the reason why the so-called Third World countries are backward is due to the absence of industrial tradition, and the difficulties they have in initiating what is somehow alien to their societies.

Fulla Doll: An Alternative for Muslim Girls
One definition of “lifestyle” relays that it is “a composite of motivations, needs, and wants and is influenced by factors such as culture, family, reference groups and social class. Physchographics (analysis of consumer lifestyle) is an important factor in determining how consumers make their purchase decisions.”

The Muslim lifestyle has been a focal point of interest in the past years as more and more Muslims make their debut via media lines to counter offensive illustrations of Muslims and their religion as a whole.
The awareness of the lifestyle is created through real-life documentaries of Muslim families and communities; Muslim lifestyle magazines for both men and women, and even teenage Muslims; and Muslim bloggers and websites. The need to create the Islamic identity is beginning to intensify amongst followers of the Islamic faith, even …

Call them the Harry Potter books on Islam
Muslim parents are always trying to figure out how to raise their children in a multicultural society while maintaining their religious identity.

In such struggles some parents either overdo their part, and make their child a total misfit for the outside world, or keep them totally ignorant about their faith and let them fall prey to the dominant social milieu. In such a complex situation, some parents who may like to impart religious education to their children in a modern way find it difficult to source quality children’s books that can provide a clear understanding of Islam.
Understanding this dilemma, a New Delhi based publisher, Saniyasnain Khan has come up with the splendid idea to bring out a wide range of children’s books on Islam in English. Published under the banner Goodword Books, its …

Practical tips for fasting during Ramadan
By San Jose Muslim Examiner Mikael Pittam
“Muslims view the fasting month of Ramadan with much sanctity and honor. The fasting month brings about a personal reflection of where we are, what we have done and where we hope to go. Many Muslims feel a heightened sense of excitement as well as anxiety. In this state of excitement, we try our best to welcome in the fasting month with as much preparation as possible. However, at times, we tend to forget the little things. Here are some practical tips to fasting during this blessed month.

Firstly, there’s the pre-Ramadan preparation. Reduce your caffeine habit, preferably a few days before you start fasting so you don’t crave your cup of java during the day. Try to do the optional fasts on Monday and Thursdays (or any day …

Was Ayesha A Six-Year-Old Bride?
by T.O. Shanavas
“A Christian friend asked me once, “Will you marry your seven year old daughter to a fifty year old man?” I kept my silence. He continued, “If you would not, how can you approve the marriage of an innocent seven year old, Ayesha, with your Prophet?” I told him, “I don’t have an answer to your question at this time.” My friend smiled and left me with a thorn in the heart of my faith. Most Muslims answer that such marriages were accepted in those days. Otherwise, people would have objected to Prophet’s marriage with Ayesha.
However, such an explanation would be gullible only for those who are naive enough to believe it. But unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the answer.
The Prophet was an exemplary man. All his actions were most virtuous so that we, Muslims, can emulate them. However, most people in our Islamic Center of Toledo, …

Muslim Ummah in need of a common economic market
The Muslim Ummah – Arabic for “Community” - is spread wide and far. In fact, almost all of the Old World, comprising Asia, Africa and Europe has at least some small Muslim community or has had historic contacts with Muslims via trade, exchanges of scientific, religious and other emissaries.
In the New World of the Americas (North, Central and South America) and Oceania (Australia, New Zealand and some surrounding Pacific islands) that have been almost rid of its native populations, its cultures, its religions, customs, and other traditions by various nonmuslim groups, most prominently European groups, the presence of Muslim communities is negligible or nonexistent.
These nonmuslim European groups were historically backward, illiterate, violent, superstitious, ignorant, uncultured, uncouth, and had little to no modicum of decency. Science and technology were not only unknown but feared, morality was lax and concepts of good and bad nonexistent.
Through the passage of scientific knowledge to what …
