“Wa Mo’atasimah” (وا معتصماه)

When Romans invaded Malatya, lots of citizens were killed, and there was a muslim woman who had been captured by the Romans. When she was tortured she screamed “Wa Mo’atasimah (O Mu’tasim) asking for help. When the Caliph al-Mu’tasim was told of what was said by the woman, it is said that he had a cup of water and he left the cup immediately and pledged not to drink water until he frees that woman. He then commanded to deploy a massive army to conquer Malatya and free the woman. Mu’tasim then defeated the roman king and freed the woman. After repsonding to the Muslim woman’s cry and freeing her he had a cup of water and said “now I can enjoy my drink.”

Where is Mu’tasim to free our brothers and sisters in Palestine?  Where is he to avenge for the Uighur Muslims? What we have today is a bunch …

Umar Ibn Abdul Aziz

Umar bin Abdul Aziz, the celebrated Umayyad caliph whose empire stretched from the shores of the Atlantic to the highlands of Pamir, was sitting In his private chamber examining a pile of State documents. The dim light of the room was adding to the serenity and somberness of the place and the Caliph could scarcely feel the arrival of his wife, Fatima, till she addressed him:

“Sire! Will you spare a few moments for me? I want to discuss some private matter with you.”

“Of course”, replied the pious caliph, raising his head from the papers, “But, please put off this state lamp and light your own, as I do not want to burn the State oil for our private talk.”

The obedient wife, who was the daughter of Abdul Malik, the mighty Umayyad Caliph and the sister of two successive Umayyad Caliphs, Waleed and Sulaiman, complied accordingly.
